In February, MEC decided to reinstate its original name, and again became known as Milwaukee Electronics. While we continue our transition from a regional electronics manufacturing services (EMS) provider, to one with an expanding global footprint, the rebranding effort and name change is designed to help highlight this evolution.

Over the last 15 years, Milwaukee Electronics has experienced sizable growth and a considerable diversification of its business model. Our electronics assembly and box build operations expanded to include facilities in Milwaukee, WI; Portland, OR; and Tecate, Mexico. An International Purchasing Office (IPO) in Singapore was established to increase the supply chain capabilities offered to mid and high volume customers, along with tech centers in Pune, India and design centers in Corvallis, OR and Milwaukee, WI.

Around the same time that the Design Engineering group was formalized in 2003, Milwaukee Electronics created a standalone quick-turn PCB assembly and prototype service named Screaming Circuits. Also, a motor and motor controls design group business unit named Automation Controls Group was developed and began offering proprietary products for use within the materials handling industry. In 2011, Milwaukee Electronics started to reorganize and streamline its EMS outsourcing operations. Through the implementation of a common ERP system, customers gained the ability to seamlessly work with multiple business units and enhance shared processes.

The website address has been changed to www.MilwaukeeElectronics.com and content has been updated. The one thing that hasn’t changed is Milwaukee Electronics’ commitment to delivering the highest quality products and services in the EMS industry—a commitment we’ve now been keeping for 60 years!
