Milwaukee, WI – MEC, a Milwaukee Electronics Company, today announced that it had promoted Rick McClain to chief operating officer (COO). Previously he was general manager of the Company’s Canby, Oregon facility. In his new role, he is responsible for managing all MEC sales activities and the Company’s production facilities in Canby, Oregon; Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Tecate, Mexico. He reports to the president and chief executive officer (CEO).
“MEC grew over 11% last year and is forecasted to grow another 20% this year. In order to ensure the management oversight needed to support that growth, we created a COO position. Rick’s combination of operations and finance expertise made him the best choice to fill this position. With Rick overseeing our U.S. production operations and the installation of our new ERP system, I will have more time to focus on our engineering services and expansion into India and Asia. I am very pleased we have reached this milestone in MEC’s evolution,” said P. Michael Stoehr, MEC president and CEO.

Rick joined MEC in 1999. He was previously chief financial officer of Electronic Controls Design, Inc. He earlier served as controller and operations manager at Dynacast, Inc., managing an ERP implementation and turnaround activities in two divisions. He received a B.A. degree in Accounting from the University of Oregon.

MEC designs and manufactures custom circuit board assemblies for the medical, transportation, military, HVAC and a variety of other industries. MEC operates over 135,000 square feet of manufacturing in Canby, Oregon; Milwaukee, Wisconsin; and Tecate, Mexico. In addition to EMS services, it offers product development and engineering services through its MEC Innovation business unit and quick-turn prototyping through its Screaming Circuits business unit.
